19 Weeks

I've been a little lacking lately with blog posts but ever since Thanksgiving I swear time has really flown by and we've all been really busy in the Kong house!  I started to write my 17 week post 3 times and got distracted each time and then lost everything.

So though things are still off the walls hectic around here in preparation for Christmas, the business, Santa party, etc.... I'm taking a break to blog between baking cookies while Jack is sleeping.  So let's see a recap of the past couple weeks.....
I stopped feeling the baby move really, and can could count on one hand how many times I had felt her originally a few weeks back.  Maybe I just wasn't noticing it when it happened or something (and it was pretty early still) because I am now feeling her a lot more often.  Just like Jack was she is most active at night.  Which I enjoy because I lay in bed at night and wait for her little kicks and punches as I fall asleep.  Christmas really snuck up on me this year.  I'm convinced it's because Thanksgiving was so late.  I didn't even get Christmas cards out this year.  I thought about it last week when I received our first couple and couldn't even find the time or energy to sit down and get them ordered.  I've been so tired in the evenings lately that I've been pretty much going to bed when Jack does....or shortly afterwards.

Christmas shopping is never going to end I swear, just when I think I'm well on my way to being done I keep remembering more people that I need to buy for!  I hate dealing with the crowds so have been trying to go out during the week but I think everyone is thinking the same thing as me because somehow EVERYONE is out and about ALL of the time!!!!  I guess that's what happens a week before Christmas in the shopping world.

So besides all of my gripes, decorating and getting ready for the holiday has actually been really fun, especially with Jack this year.  He is so stinkin adorable it makes me so full of love for that kid.  Everything is still so new and that means its SUPER exciting to him.  Decorating the tree has been a challenge for sure.  The lights were exciting to begin with, and I had to throw away like 5 strands because I'm pretty sure dragging them around the house and making random piles here and there and everywhere took its toll on them LOL.  He was just fascinated....then we strung them on the tree and turned them on!!!!  Boy if that didn't blow his mind!  I think the actual ornaments though were even more exciting, he quickly learned that they come off of the tree as easily as Mommy puts them on!  So up until last week our tree was only decorated with ornaments on the top half.  Then I realized that if I let him stick them in the tree all on his own and got excited about what he did with lots of "good jobs" that he will leave them there for a while.  So a few broken ornaments, a LOT of pine needles, and lots and lots of "NO NO NO's" to Jack, I'd say our house is as decorated as it's going to get this year!

Baking cookies has been a blast, Jack has decided he LOVES anything with sugar especially cookies and frosting!  He's now tall enough to reach things off of the counter tops which he never could before and helped himself to my baking spatula covered in cookie dough.....needless to say now I push everything back further on the counter so little hands can't reach it!!

He had his first candy cane which he also loves and boy did I pay for it that day!  He ate the entire thing, it was my fault for giving him an entire candy cane to begin with, but he was exhausted which combined with a sugar high......you get the picture!
Using a giant container of powdered sugar to stand on....clever!

He is also now addicted to chapstick......totally our fault though because we are both constantly on the hunt for chapstick which is stashed all over the house.  Every time he sees us putting it on he puckers his little lips and makes a little sound like "mmmm", so we always dab a little on his lips and he rubs them together and makes the "yummy" sound.  I crack up every single time HA HA HA!

So all in all I'm SUPER excited for Christmas this year, we have a LOT to be thankful for and it's going to be so much fun with Jack being old enough to semi know what's going on.  He knows who Santa is and is not afraid....thankfully!!!  I was really scared about that.  We had a Santa party at our house last week and invited all of our friends with little kids to come and visit with Santa, goodies, food, drinks......good times!  I'd say it was a success, but seemed to be over so quickly since it was on a Wednesday night.  Santa had a tight schedule this year so we had to take him when we could get him.  I had Santa dust for all of the kids.  For those that don't know what Santa dust is, pretty much just glitter in cute little packages that you sprinkle on the snow on Christmas Eve so that Santa knows to stop at your house :)  I grew up receiving Santa dust each year and it was a tradition I'm definitely going to carry on with my kids.  All of the kids received a Santa cup (from Target - they seriously have the cutest stuff!!!) to take home, and a holiday coloring book that one of the moms brought for all of the kids.

I have to say that we had a lot of babies so next year will be an absolute blast to see how they've grown and interact with Santa.

Baby # 2 update:
Like I said earlier she is moving around a lot more and I can now say I feel her every day and at random times throughout the day....mostly at night though.  She is 10oz according to my last sonogram a few days ago.  As we were watching her on the screen the doctor started laughing and said "I just saw your baby pee", and she was right you could totally see these little bubbles shooting out and floating around.  It was pretty cute I must say ha ha.

THIS WEEK'S TOP 5
  1. Thankful to know everything is OK and we have a healthy baby girl to look forward to.
  2. Feeling her move and kick much more regular than I was before.  It's like once it starts it just gets more and more consistent.  I'd been waiting for that to happen and thankful that I'm able to feel her a lot sooner than I was Jack.....I didn't feel him until I was 22 weeks pregnant.
  3. Feeling thankful for friends and family who have ha little girls and are passing ALL of their stuff to me!!! Not that I won't buy stuff on my own a well, but I have to admit that I am so "boy" orientated now that I am completely overwhelmed when looking at girl stuff!!
  4. Feeling lots of energy and trying not to get stressed out over Christmas being right around the corner.  Starting to think about the nursery but won't really dive in until after the new year most likely :)
  5. Honestly I'm just looking forward to my next doctors appointment (this week) and then of course my next sonogram.
Someone found my address stamp and this was the result!
