27 Weeks, NYC, and Nesting???

27 weeks and feeling every bit of it!  I'm definitely not one to love being pregnant, in fact, the only part of pregnancy that I actually enjoy is feeling the baby move.  So needless to say, I'm ready for this to be over with already.  Considering I've got about another 3 months to go, It's probably going to be a long third trimester.  I can hear myself getting irritated WAY more easily over everything, I can feel my energy starting to deplete earlier in the day, and I'm either "nesting" or have gone into panic mode and want everything done around the house ASAP!  I'm currently obsessed (even more so than usual) with DIY projects.  Today I made Jack an upholstered headboard for his bed.  It seriously took me about an hour and cost me a smidgen of what it would have had I purchased one.  Pics to come, I still need to put the nail heads  on it, right now it's just fabric.  It's just plain navy blue but if it turns out as good as I'm hoping it will, I'm totally making one for our master bedroom!
       Hardwoods going in the nursery!

Had a doctor's appointment today, all is well.....I'm literally in their for all of 5 minutes now, I seriously wait longer for the doctor to come meet with me than I do actually talking to her.  I'm down to every 3 weeks now and then after my next appointment drop down to 2 weeks between visits and then go to weekly appointments after that.
                  Some cousin love💜

So last weekend we went to NYC to visit Johnny's family.  We stayed with his sister and her family, got to see my new niece (4 months old) for the first time.  Saw cousins who also came into town.  We were there for Chinese New Year, and actually had a really fun time at the Parade, which was really just a ton of people wondering the streets of China Town (in Brooklyn).....we did everything we could....got silly string, poppers, snap poppers, balloons, and of course bubble tea!!  I LOVE a good taro bubble tea and my brother and sister-n-law took us to a great little place.  Besides the New Year, one of the reasons we went to the city is so that family could meet Jack who still haven't met him.  Johnny's parents threw a big party at a Chinese restaurant (yes with all of the traditional Chinese fixings), Jack got to meet his great grandparents on my mother-n-law's side, and he basically ran around like a maniac the entire time.  Someone constantly had to take turns chasing him around the restaurant, all he wanted to do was wonder around and not be held. Oh and did I mention it was in the 50's all weekend!!  It was great to be able to walk around in light jackets instead of snow boots and puffy coats!
NYC - China Town - Brooklyn

So a short weekend trip but we sure packed a lot of activity into just a couple of days.  Neither one of us had to work the day after we got back and thank GOD because neither one of us could move!  We were exhausted and just wiped out.  My parents watched the dogs while we were gone and we didn't go pick them up until the next night after returning.  So after having a whole night and and entire day without dogs, I have to say it was pretty damn nice!!  I love my dogs but I'm at a point where having dogs and kids together is just too much!  Without them here I realized just how much I am constantly having to tell them to be quiet or let them outside (and god forbid they ever go outside at the same time!), or clean up a mess or carry them up or down the stairs.........TOO MUCH!

I'm SUPER excited to say that Jack has started saying "Mommy", and it seriously melts my heart every time he says it <3  I've been waiting for it to happen for so long, wondering if he would ever actually call me "mommy" instead of Momma or Mom.  I LOVE it :)
I feel like he's growing up right before my eyes and more lately than ever.  If I ask him to say a new word, he actually tries to say it now.  He's really working on his words now more than ever.
He's doing great sleeping in his big boy bed, however he wakes up like 3 to 4 times a night.  Sometimes he will just fuss and then go right back to sleep it if I wait and not run right into his room, but usually I'm up a few times a night having to go into his room.  He literally lays back down and goes right back to sleep as soon as I lay down with him, which is even more frustrating for me because I have no idea what is waking him up in the first place.  No wonder I'm so tired every day, I can't remember the last time I actually slept through the night uninterrupted.

My brother came over to watch Jack while Johnny and I had a date night for the first time in God only knows how long.  I told him we've GOT to start doing this at least once a month.  It just felt so good to get out and eat great food at a nice restaurant, surrounded by adults only,  having adult conversation....even though a lot of it was about Jack!....funny how that happens.

This Week's Top 5:
1.  I went through a couple of days of having a serious chocolate craving!  Yep I was that pregnant lady dipping peanut butter filled pretzels into melted chocolate.....YIKES!

2.  Johnny made even more progress on the nursery......hardwoods are in (in-progress pic above) and my feature wall covered in molding is well on its way.  It looks great and ill be sharing pics once fully complete.

3.  Jack repeating "mommy" a million times a day is definitely a highlight of the week for me!  It's just so adorable in his little voice😍

4.  Finally took Jack out sledding.  We've had a TON of snow but the temps have been ridiculously bone chilling.  It finally snowed a bunch and stayed in the 20's.....so we eased outside for some fun!  Basically it was Johnny pulling Jack and I around the neighborhood on the sled.

5.  Not sleeping all that great these days which blows!!! Between me just being uncomfortable when rolling over, the heartburn, and Jack waking up 3-5 times a night....in so sleep deprived.  THANK GOD for my automatic setting on my coffee maker!  I seriously look forward to that cup-a-joe every morning!
